Why draw a line between Design and Art?
"Crossover" is a big word in today's design industry.
Here is the new title of Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons:
"Fashion Designer/Interior Designer/Multimedia Artist/ Sculptor/ Set Designer"
Why let a title limit yourself?
Zaha Hadi, Starck and Marc Newson's new interests are shoes design, they each have a new definition of shoes. Marcel Wanders, Alexander McQueen and Hella Jongerius just became part-time illustrators for a campaign with IKEA - Unicef.
Henri Vibskov and Walter Van Beirendonck are my new discovered designers/artists.
The Media analyzed them as Post-Modernist, Futurist, Sexist, Deconstructionist.
Is it human nature to label other people ? Does this make things easier to understand? Make life simpler?
They just enjoy playing- big time!
Just like when we were kids, before we understood perspective and common sense ; when sky didn't need to be blue and grass didn't have to be green.
Imagine what would the world be like if there are more Peter Pan?
